Project Won't Burn to Disc

When I try to burn a disc (at 8X or 12X), it sometimes works, but frequently it gives the error message: " A write error occurred. The disc may be dirty or corrupted". The discs are brand new just out of the package. I am using "Philips DVD + R ,16X write speed". What's wrong. Is this a bad type of disc? Is it a problem with the prepared project or MPEG file loaded onto the project? I'm using Architect 4.
HELP.

Boy, this gets asked a lot.

Many users on these forums get best results with Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim blanks. You can do a search for more discussion.

I had really bad luck with Phillips. Had to throw them away.

Try another brand, if that doesn't help, then check out your burner.
