I know this question is only theoretical at this point...as the product hasn't actually shipped. But the promax pro converter appears to be the PC solution that the AJA box is for Mac users....allowing uncompress video capture via firewire.
I know that any edited video will still need to rendered to an uncompressed avi or mov file...but will the Vegas 4.0 print to tape setup allow for uncompressed video out via firewire? Specs for the new box are here: http://www.promax.com/Products/Detail/27187
Being able to print to tape in an "uncompressed" format would be a god-send :-)
