Proposal to fellow forum members

Those of you who remember my posts here might have noticed my activity has almost stopped in recent several months. I'm still editing my classical music videos with Vegas Pro, but do it less and less. What I'm NOT doing anymore is participate in the actual shooting with my 2 cameras, due to a very serious condition of my neck spine called cervical stenosis. In fact, I just cannot operate the video equipment, as all my 4 limbs and the spine are very weak (I'm on a disability pension).

So, I'm thinking of selling my 2 babies (plus all the additional stuff) that I cherished so much; they are:

- EX1 (201 hours) with plenty of media cards, batteries, shoulder support etc
- FX100 (10 hours) with all what's needed to ND filter it in every configuration plus a nice collection of vintage Canon FD glass
- the nanoFlash, complete with several power configuration and 4 very fast CF cards (2x 32 + 2x 64 GB, good for up to 220 Mbps recording)
- Letus Elite 35 mm adapter with EX1 achromat (sharing the Canon glass with the F100 and mounted on the EX1, it allows 2 camera indie film-making).

If someone is interested in buying the above from me, please drop me an email. Of course everything is in like new conditions. Thanks,

Piotr

HI Piotr:

I don't have a need for the cameras and other gear; just want you to know how sorry I am to learn of your disability and the problems its causing. At 80 I'm dealing with arthritis myself, nowhere nearly a disabling as what you're facing, however.

I wish you the very best and hope things will stabilize for you.

Thanks Jack - considering you're 20 years older than myself, you must be a very brave man!

Hi Piotr,
That's bad news. I know you've had surgery to try to fix this and obviously it was not as successful as we (especially you) hoped. Hopefully there will be improvement.
best regards,
Serena

Piotr,
No need for more cameras here either but very sad to hear things have not gone to plan for a fellow forum member, overall great bloke and one of the best practitioners of our craft.
Mate, I hope you get relief from your condition soon.

Bob.

Oh my ...

Piotr, of course I wish you well and hope you will look and explore "other" ways to capture those previous images that mean something to you. Cameras with better accessibility for all of us has to be good thing. Maybe SONY could explore this as an opportunity - as Leaders in accessibility cameras.

My very wishes Piotr,

Grazie

Actually there is such a camera: the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera. Very light, small, and very capable. Needs to be tarted up with accessories for production, but quite usable in bare form.

Thank you all for your kind words; this forum has always been unique in how friendly and nice people here are towards one another :)

As to your specific advice about the BMC (or anything small and lightweight, if I got you intentions right): the bad news is that while my limbs get tired immediately when I try to carry some fully-blown rig, holding something too light will cause my entire arms trembling so much that even dr. Mercalli couldn't help salvage my footage, I'm afraid. The only thing that comes to my mind which could work is some good vest with lightweight arms, plus a good stabilizer with something like the BMC on it... But a good flying system like this cost a lot of money, as you know, so it might be difficult for quite other reasons...

"one of the best practitioners of our craft"

Bob, you made me flush. I'm far from being what you described in such a favourable way, and luckily enough I do have another (the main, BTW) profession which doesn't require carrying stuff around. It does require long hours in front of a PC monitor though, and thus only makes my condition worse...
