ProType Colour Picker?

Grazie wrote on 9/15/2007, 2:56 AM
I read the Online Help. It does mention a colour picker. But on close scrutiny and with Mahesh yesterday, I couldn't find it? I'm taking it that the colour picker is what I've known previously, as the eye-dropper thingie?

TIA

Yes, that would be a logical assumption.

In which case, would somebody please tell me where it is? I can't find it.

Don't think it is the eye dropper thingie. The color picker is the dialog box that shows when you click the color swatch on the style properties page.

ALl I can find is slide bars to pick the color, is there access to a color swatch or some other means of choosing rather than generating custom colors? If not what alternatives are there available to get consistan colors throughout the project?

you can click on the RGB numbers to type in specific values (it's R G B Alpha) or open up the slider window & click on those numbers to type specific things in.

But there is no automatic or eyedropper kind of a control?

none that I can see. i always copied/pasted colors to get them exact. I'm ASSUMING you can save the color as a preset & use that preset & re-type words.

a color picker would be great. always handy with the preview window.

OK people, I have been using the previous Text Gener's colour picker to match, by eye or picker fonts to a section of the video - kinda guy I is. Colour matching is a real neat part of graphics work - don't yah know!

I want the eye dropper!
It's just soooo much easier to match a color that already exists in your project.

A freeware utility that may fit a need here: Eyedropper

After download, unzip, execute, in systray open properties to set options.

I was realy concerned at no eye dropper because that's how I do my text colours. Fortunately and amazingly, my Cayman Graphics Titler works in VP8. Lazy I know, but I shall pass on the Pro type for now.
