Thanks for your response

If I attempt to convert an MP4 (GSpot reports the container as “MSNV: MPEG-4 (.MP4) for SonyPSP - mp42: MP4 Base Media vl [ISO 14496-12:20 Recommended Display Size: 1280 x 720” – this plays fine on the timeline but slow) by using ‘Convert to:’ > ‘Format:’ Video for Windows > ‘Template’ “Default Template (uncompressed)>Custom tab>video tab>”Video format;”>Cineform Codec (for example) I get the error …
“System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object,
at EntryPoint.FromVegas(Vegas vegas)”

If I render the same file from the timeline using ‘Render as’ this will work fine* (* BTW I have the most updated Cineform Neo version which works with Vegas 10”

Cheers, Graham

You have to save the new customised Template with a new name before to quit the Template window (otherwise you get a blank template field in proxystream window).
I will have a look to avoid this behaviour.

Thanks Gilles .... problem solved

Hi Gilles ... another question please .... I assume your script no longer becomes usable after a subclip has been created. eg (I now realise) the new (Mercalli) stabliser now built into Vegas 10 creates subclips and this appears to make it impossible to switch back to the 'source' files. The existing Prodad Mercalli Ver 1 the Video FX plugin (I guess) does not create a subclip and as such does not affect a proxy stream swap back to source clips. Is there work around for this?

Thanks in advance, Graham

Hi Graham,
Sorry, currently there is no way that Proxy Stream (switch Tab) works with Mercalli subclip.
