PS3 and 60p rendering questions

I have a video edited in VMS11, recorded in 1920x1080x60p with a Sony CX560V camcorder. As I learned reading some posts in this forum, blu-ray isn’t able to handle this format, so I bought a PS3, but I’m experiencing two difficulties:
1) The MP4 videos rendered in 1920x1080 60p are not played by the PS3. I’ve tried both Sony AVC (video stutters) and Mainconcept (no image) templates, to no avail. The best format played is Sony AVC 1440x1080 60p rendered videos. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
2) When I try to render MP4 60p with 5.1 surround sound using Sony AVC template, it returns this error message: “An error occurred while opening a codec”. Can’t Vegas render 60p MP4 movies with surround sound?
Thanks for any help!

I don't know about #2, but #1 is normal. Very few to no TV devices out there can playback properly 1080/60p. They can do 60i, and they can do 720/60p, but not as easily 1080/60p. That's one of the reasons why I think buying a 1080/60p camera is a waste of money at this time. So you have two options:
1. You export at 720/60p instead at around 24 mbps.
2. You export 1080/60p as 60i, interlaced (e.g. as m2t mpeg2).

Alternatively you can connect a powerful PC with HDMI-out and a CoreAVC decoder & media player, and decode these videos from your PC to your TV. PCs with the right decoder can do it. But that's unnecessary load on your living room.

Also, don't forget that the frame rate is 59.94 fps on both the project properties and exporting dialog for 60p projects, not 60.00 fps.
