Haven't been able to find anything in the Forums Archives, so have to ask:
Here's the set up. A computer we use primarily for editing and creating DVDs; a PD-150 to use for pass through to a VHS record deck.
When I firewire from the computer to the PD-150 using PTT I have both picture and sound on the camera monitor. Same is true if I select "external monitor." When I plug an SVHS cable (or an RCA video cable) into the camera the picture disappears from the camera monitor. Take the SVHS cable out and the picture returns to the camera. I've used two different PD-150s with same results.
The "DV in/out" menu option in the 150 is "ON."
I rendered the time line to an avi file and tried using the vid/capture utility to output. Same strory -- no image on the camera when video out cable is plugged in.
Since the camera works o.k. for pass through on another computer, I'm suspecting that there is something I've failed to set correctly on the computer I'm trying to get to print to tape. Anything is possible, though.
As a work around I've output to a DVD to meet deadline, but I really do need to resolve this issue for the future. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
