If you mean remove the audio there are several things you can do.
- Select the audio part of the clip, press U to ungroup, select it again, delete
- Hover the mouse pointer near the top of the audio clip's upper edge, it will turn to a little hand with a grabby finger, drag down all the way to the bottom of the event
- Drag the volume slider in the track header all the way to the right, this will affect all clips on that track.

If you mean you want to use the audio only you can follow the first method above for the video portion of the clip.

If you want a separate file that contains just audio, in Vegas go to File / Render As and choose an audio-only file type, such as Microsoft Wave.
