punch ins.

I have tried everything I can think of so far and cannot seem to get a simple punchin and out.
I can get it to record mid track, but not with a preroll and a post roll. I must be missing
something stupid. I saw the previous post on punchins and that didn't help either. Can any
one give me some really specific instructions on punchins? TIA, Rob

1. Add an empty track.
2. Select a time range that you want to record into. (Does not have to be exact.)
3. Right click on the range and select insert empty event.
4. Click away from the region to remove it.
5. Select and size the event as you want.
6. Do this as many times as you want different puch in/out points.

7. Arm the track for record, selecting the device you want to record from. (Note: You must be in non-mapper mode to use anything but the mapper for recording.)
8. Select all events you want to record into. (You can even do this accross multiple tracks.)
9. Make a time selection to include all events you want to record into. It can extend as far as you want for your preroll/post roll. It can even start in the middle of an event.

10. Click the record button on the main transport.

Only the selected events in the selected area will be recorded into. If you have the loop button enabled, when the time selection end is reached, the transport will loop and allow you to record a second, third - as many as you want - takes into the event.s

Hope this helps.

Peter
