Q: Mask -- Select ALL Nodes Key Command -- How?

Soniclight wrote on 9/4/2007, 1:52 AM
It seems to be just by chance that I get it right when simply wanting to move a mask (all nodes selected). Have tried all kinds of Ctrl, Alt, etc. combos Even the right-click Select Menu/All, but the moment I touch the edge of the mask, it selects a segment, not the whole thing.

Had it figured out a while back, but brain is now blank.

Nothing in Vegas 6 Help files that I can find,. This is a most likely a stupid question but it's really frustrating, and I do feel stupid.
Time to hang it up and get some sleep.

Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow in a brighter mood to find your your "duh" solution....

Using Vegas 7 (the same I think?) assuming you're in Event Pan/Crop, with a mask created... it's just Right click anywhere on the clip - Select All... the pointer changes to a hand - you can move the whole mask....

or am i misunderstanding your question?

Thanks, but I've tried that way and yes, the hand appears, but the image moves, not the mask. The moment I get to the mask, the arrow appears and it only selects the nearest path segment.

There's got to be some shortcut/key command combo for this or something for it's worked in the past.

Anyone else have the solution?

1/- Move towards a POINT

2/- Right Click and GO > SELECT > PATH

3/- Come AWAY from the Mask and then MOVE back to the ANCHOR until ALL the ANCHOR POINTS are WHITE

4/- Once they are ALL white Left+Drag and the MASK moves with all the ANCHOR POINTS flying in close formation.

Grazie

Grazie,

Thank! (or as they say in Italian... Grazie! :)
I'll have to practice a few times, but it works.

"the hand appears, but the image moves, not the mask."

My bad. Once you have all the nodes selected, you have to click drag on one of the nodes to move the mask. Click -dragging anywhere else moves the image, as you say.
