QSound QTools & Vegas

Dear Sonic Foundry's Vegas Development and QA team,

I would just like to say hats off to the entire team at
Sonic Foundry for finally realizing their long-anticipated
goal of a multi-channel mixing environment! The development
of ACID proved you were on the path to a stellar multi-
channel app someday and here it is! I have spent some time
with your initial release and have the following comments
with respect to the interaction of our third-party DirectX
3D audio Plug-In suite, QSound QTools/AX v1.0.

We have experienced difficulty in hooking in our QSYS/AX
and Q123/AX plug-ins. These plug-ins are both MONO-TO-3D
enhancement tools that allow us to take in a mono audio
stream and apply QSound's patented 3D spatial enhancement
algorithms, producing a QSound-encoded, 3D stereo output...
Unfortunately, it appears that support for this streaming
architecture for plug-ins, (MONO IN - STEREO OUT), is not
supported in the current version of Vegas. Are there plans
to open up the architecture to support this?

Consequently, our Stereo Soundfield Enhancer Tool, QX/AX
works great on a stereo bus! Fantastic 3D expansion!

We have been pleased in the past with the stable and
realtime performance of all three QTools/AX plug-ins under
all versions of Sound Forge, up to the latest version 4.5.
We hope that QTools/AX can be a benefitial and effective
tool for users of Vegas as well.

If there are any other users that have more details on the
interaction between the QSound QTools/AX plug-in suite and
Vegas, I would like to open up some discussion on it.

Thanks for your time and support.

Sincerely,

Jeff Hook

The latest beta of Vegas deals with any filter inptut/output scenarios. Please try again and let us know if you have any further problems.

We specifically added this support so that filters like the QSound ones can be used in Vegas.

Thanks
Peter Haller
