QT render= No Depth Option???!!!!

QT render= No Depth Option. On MAC (and in other Windows applications) I am able to set the "depth" when rendering. ie 256 colors, millions of colors, 256 greys ect.

Even tech support said " I guess you cant " in Vegas. I cant even set the depth in the project properties....Help!

The input movies are screen capture (16 bit). In other apps -Our noraml workflow is to bring the screen capture movies in>sweeten the audio>render as QT where we choose "256 colors". this keeps the input and output depth close and avoids adding extra information to the final movie. the destination is Web and thats the only reason its a concern.

I did speak with my partner who said it might be OK come out of VV in millions. If its a problem we would have to knock them back down by exporting from QT.

I just found it odd that depth could not be set in VV of in its QT render.
