Quadro vs. Geforce?

Hello again!
I'm building a system for my dad who does a lot of video editing with vegas... he also uses 3 monitors currently, with a matrox parhelia. Seems to work fine...
We may drop to 2 22" monitors and try that for the new setup, I'm just curious though if we would see a big performance gain by putting in a Quadro rather than a Geforce (I was thinking a 7600 to 7900 card?). If a Geforce would be fine, I think I could probably put 2 in non-SLI mode and support 3 monitors again. But two Quadro's would be out of our budget...

Thoughts?

Oh, and here's the cards i'm actually looking at:

Vegas doesn't currently use the graphics card for processing so the main thing you need is a card that can drive the screens. Not really a challenge.

Other programs do need graphics card power, but not currently Vegas. The Magic Bullet plugin uses the graphics card, most 3D apps can use it, Vegas doesn't. Maybe that'll change at the end of the year with V8.

I think you don't need to go to much expense with graphics cards if Vegas is the only concern.

As you are probably aware, Vegas doesn't care what graphics card you have in that it doesn't use the GPU for any processing - though this may change with version 8.
I'm very happy with my Geforce 7600GT 256MB - though I only have one monitor to power at the moment. It's a GigaByte one with "SilentPipe" - ie it is fanless. This was very important to me as I want as little background noise as possible (and, of course, no moving parts to fail). The only possible downside is that it takes up two slots to fit the heatsink/heatpipe onto the card. (Still plenty of room on my Mobo if I wanted to fit a secon though)

Noise is a big consideration. Good point!
