QuckTime Tsk Tsk

I discovered as no doubt many of you have that using QuickTime after version 7.6.2 only results in not being able to use mov files in Vegas Video. I had to install the earlier version 7.6.0.

But does anyone know the technical reason for this? I found that the video view in SONAR is absolutely fine with the latest version of QuickTime but Vegas balks at it giving me a dark screen.

Oh and another thing that seems odd about QuickTime is that low quality is the default, you have to change the preferences to use high quality IF AVAILABLE.

The bug was introduced by Apple and even broke their own Final Cut Pro. Vegas Pro has since been fixed so you must be using an old version of Vegas because up to date versions of Vegas Pro 9.0 and 10 work perfectly fine with the latest QuickTime.

Which version of "Vegas Video"?
Quicktime 7.6.4 was released five months after Vegas Pro 8.0c, and broke compatibility.
The current release of Vegas Pro 10 supports all current Quicktime versions afaik.

I am still using 8 and plan to upgrade only after paying off the rebuilding of my studio. (Destroyed in a flood).

Sorry to hear about the flood, Bob. That really can set you back.
