Question about 2-cam XLH1 shoot

I am doing a 2-1/2 hour show this weekend, and am lucky to get a guy with two XLH1's to do the shoot. One will be stationary, the other for cutaways, closeups, etc.

I will be doing the post in Vegas 8. My question regards the Genlock and SMPTE TC features on the cameras. Are they both used at once, or independently? Obviously, I want synced TC for easy Multicam editing in Vegas. Is the TC sync separate from Genlock? What is the best master/slave setup? Is SMPTE 30 frame non-drop the best? What happens to the TC and sync during tape changes (there will be two for each camera)?

Sorry, I know this is actually several questions, but my knowledge of these cameras is limited to what I have read.

It was just my nervousness, and the videographer explained everything in detail. It is the "free running" clock function that eliminates all of the concerns I had. It keeps generating a continuous TC regardless of whether either camera is actually recording. Sweet!
