You don't need to tweak anything. Vegas works fine under XP, 98SE, (personal experience) and others reported the same under ME and WIN 2000.
Its the same old axiom... if your operating system is "stable" for other applications, it should be stable for Vegas. If you OS crashes alot now, that's sign something is probably wrong with your Windows install. Vegas itself is remarkably stable and you really have to work at it to try and crash it.
i can't seem to get it to work right. I installed two new hd and I cannot save my renders as avi files. Do you guys think it's my config settings. BECAUSE i'm tired vegas is the worst thing that can happen to a person. Any advice will be appriciated thanks.

You can easily edit your post by selecting "edit this message" in your post. That way, you can go back and finish your sentences, or delete them. :)
What are the messages coming up? Is it just freezing? Is it shutting down? Sometimes it could be plug-in related and other times it's something else. The more info you can give(anti-virus active, anything else running in the background, etc) will help in finding a solution for you as quickly as possible.
