Hi John,

Earlier in the year I had Video Conversion Experts transfer about 1-1/2 hours of super 8mm with sound, using their Gold process.
The experience was not completely without issues. After I sent them the reels, and they returned back a hard drive with the video plus sound on them, it turned out they completely over modulated the sound portion of the film to the point that you could not make out any of the words.
I spoke with them, and their excuse at the time was that they do not do many super 8 with sound and did not quite know how to adjust the volume properly
I had to send the transfer back 2 times to get this problem corrected to my satisfaction.

The video portion was done quite nicely. I liked the final look of the video, nice colors, although it seemed to me that they did not clean the film good enough, as I noticed these "fly by" dust particles ocassionaly, which I thought was kinda odd.

All in all it did what I wanted, was a bit pricey but in the end still worth the effort.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm also checking out the MyMovieTransfer website as well as the one you went with.

Try these guys - I'm thinking of using them to transfer my old 8mm and Super8:
