Question for DVD-A 2 & 3 users

Do you have the ability to set your mpeg rendering quality, when DVD-A starts to make menus? If you can, what are your options? Can you set bitrate, 2-Pass, VBR or Constant?
Is there a way to export the Menu rendering via 'Frameserver"? (If this is possible with Vegas 4.0 & DVD-A 1.0, please let me know. I know it's unlikely.) I'm not too happy with the way avi's come out with 1 Pass rendering with whatever the basic menu mpg rendering settings are. (Does anybody know what these settings are?)
Thanks in advance....

No you cannot control the menu render settings. If you are creating a motion menu, the worst thing you can do (IMO) is feed DVDA a MPG file for the menu background. I usually feed it an uncompressed AVI. I also find that feeding it progressive for the menu results in poor quality as well.

There's an extensive discussion on this in the DVDA forum; I'll see if I can dig up the link.

Thank you for that link. It looks like not much has changed from DVD-A 1.
It does seem odd that they would NOT let you set your own mpeg settings for menu rendering. That's the 1st thing somebody sees, when 1st playing a disc.

Okay, the default mpg rendering setting, that we all despise, is that what they use for menu renderings?
