Question for Grazie regarding MA-300

Hi Grazie, a prospective buyer on another forum is looking for a definitive answer to the following question.
Does the Canon MA-300 XLR audio adapter provide phantom power? You have the MA-300 on your PAL version of the GL2, correct?
Are you satisfied with the audio quality? I know the MA-100 and MA-200 used with the XL-1 had electrical noise problems.
Have you ever had a problem with the hot-shoe connection of the MA-300 getting "crunchy" if any pressure or movement was applied to the unit?
Thanks for the info.

"Have you ever had a problem with the hot-shoe connection of the MA-300 getting "crunchy" if any pressure or movement was applied to the unit?" - In a word - no. But this is my experience . . . "a prospective buyer on another forum is looking for a definitive answer" you aint gonna get a deifintive answer from me. However, just come back from some exterior shooting in a "breezy" lake side environment. Seen and heard the rushes. Very clear, very "editiable" audio. I used a cheap pair - in fact free pair! - of Virgin Atlantic give-a-way headset earphones for monitoring the "mono" from the Senni K66 Cartoid. Smashing stuff.

If I have any crit on the MA-300, with the putting on/off of the shoe, it might wear in time. Maybe by then I would have upgraded - We'll see.

Hope this has been helpful.

Just out of curiosity what forum would this be?
