What writing are you expecting to see? Normally a video effect or transition is a fade or something... do you mean you're adding a text generated media for a title or something? What font are you trying to use?

What media format is the song or video that you're trying to insert?

It is not when i'm adding a text, it is the program configuration. For instance, when i add a transition (Barndoor in this example) I get a box with option: First option I read is ??(O): and there is 2 click spaces both saying ???? And also many boxes where i can write a number doesn't fit in the area

Again :

??(O): ??
o ???? ???(S) : a slider number
o ???? ????(F): a slider number

??(D):
o ?? ?(C): Color option
o ???

The important point is that there are question marks everywhere instead of option such as : - Apparition from the top, bottom, sides,
- border size
- orientation

And also that i don't see the complete box where i can write a number. I can manage to do something by trial and error but i wish i can fix this problem because I pretty sure the program is not made like that.

For the audio problem, I fixed it buy restoring my audio card with default option.

It sounds like you've got a foreign language version of the software and no longer have the international font necessary for that version. Did you download and install the Japanese version instead of the English version?

no I bought the program. I tried to find some update to download on their website, and i downloaded the 3.0b version (english) But the problem was there before and after downloading the new version.

i uninstalled the program and installed it back with the english version but it appears that when i go to HELP and then SHOW ME HOW it's all in Japanese. And when the program starts there are also some stuff in japanese. THis might be the problem but i dont know how to install it in english.

Where did you buy the program from? On Sony's website, Best Buy (or some other store), or did you find a deal on eBay?

And good catch Chienworks on the foreign language problem.

I bought it from Sony's website about a 18 months ago. Yes I have this problem since the beginning.

I had a similiar problem - as I recall - also with the software versions approx. one year ago.
The soloution was to change Windows'' Regional Settings to "English (United States)"... which were/are not my native settings.

Surely strange, but it seemed that the software at that time checked the Regional Settings value and then wrote ??? or some Japanese signs instead of English (totally ignoring, that I in fact HAD installed the English version) if the value was anything but "English (United States)" (probably it would have been Japanese if I had installed this language pack ... :-)
