I've used VideoFactory to create audio (voice with music). I need two to three tracks, so I don't think SoundForge will work. Can I create streaming audio with VideoFactory so these files can go on my web site? Thanks, Susan B.
You should be able to render to several audio-only formats, such as .wav, .wmv, .mp3, .ra, etc. All of these except .wav are useful for posting on a website.
I bought VF last night, but I cannot find any option to save in those formats. I'm really frustrated by this. Can you please tell me how to convert the VF event to an audio .wav or .mp3? And can .mp3 be used on a regular cd? I have a project due on Friday morning, so I need to figure this out fast! Do I now need to buy SoundForge? Thanks, Susan
Most cd players can't handle mp3s, though that's changing, so your audio files need to be .wavs. Programs like Nero will convert to wav from mp3 if you tell them that you want to create an audio cd but it's better to start from a wav if at all possible. Every time you do a format conversion you're likely to degrade the audio quality, so you should do as few as possible. Also, mp3s are a lower quality, though you may not be able to notice the difference, depending on the quality of the audio equipment and how good a listener you are. Stick with .wavs as much as possible - you use more disk space but the quality's better.
When you come to burn your cd make sure "Disk at once" is selected in your burning program - the disk wont play if you don't! You may also have some compatibility issues, particularly with CD-RW. If you're up against deadlines it might be a good idea to check in advance.
