question on the preprocessing tab

I am wondering just what the real world settings should be on the Preprocessing tab in the custom section when rendering ac3 5.1 audio.
I know farss has posted b4 about setting the dyn rng comp to none for both line and rf.
But what about the 90 degree phase shift and three 3db att.?
i know how phase shift works when your talking about subwoofers/LFE's can someone give me the skinny on these and what effect they will have?

The phase shift has to do with stereo surround encoding. Go to www.dolby.com, they have great documentation that should help you.

Also try using the context-sensitive help (aka What's This Help or WTH). In Custom, click on the question mark next to the close box, then click on an item in the dialog that you want additional information on. This may provide a quick answer that you were looking for.

"i know how phase shift works when your talking about subwoofers/LFE's"

Could you explain this to the rest of us who are unfamiliar? I haven't done any real surround mixing and .ac3 encoding, and would like to know what you're talking about so I know what too look out for when I get deeper into it.
