Afaik, Sony apps can't control Panasonic decks. It's petty, but I don't know which side is responsible.

I think Premeire can do it, as well as FCP. Surely Avid can do it too.

An option for you if the deck has SDI output is to look into a BMD or AJA card, or to hook the deck up to some other system that can control it.

To use the media in Vegas you'll need to get DVFilm's Raylight. (But if you ingest over SDI you can choose any codec you like)
