beginner finished making first movie. i'm having trouble turning this movie into a movie. i've tried making a video cd, and yes, my dvd player is supposed to play video cd's. what am i doing wrong? the only way i've been able to save this thing is as an mpeg that plays on windows media. and frankly, the quality sucks. can i save this as something that can be turned into a dvd by someone else? or is there any format in which to save this movie so that the quality remains awesome?

greatly appreciative,
Scott A.

Hmmm. How are you trying to create the VCD? You should be using the standard default templates. Are you getting a VCD that you're just not happy with? Are you ending up with a disc that doesn't playin your DVD player? (Not all DVD players can play VCDs.)

In reference to having someone else make a DVD for you, how long is the video? You could save it as DV .avi files on data CDs for someone else to render for you. Each CD can hold just under 3 minutes worth of DV. If your video is longer than this, you can render it in regions to separate .avi files. If you've purchased the MPEG-2 plugin for VideoFactory then you can render to a DVD-compliant MPEG-2 file yourself, store this on a CD (can hold up to about 20 minutes) and have someone else burn it into DVD format for you.
