I have a series of video clips with audio... and the first few I would add to Vegas Video they would come up with an audio and a video track... but some of them just come up with the audio... and it says, "Stream attributes could not be determined" why is this as I then tryed with Windows Movie Maker and they loaded up fine...

thanks

It probably means you don't have a codec for those filetypes. I had this problem with avi's from my Canon digital still camera - they use the motion jpeg codec. MovieMaker could open them, but not Vegas (maybe MovieMaker has a built in mjpeg codec that other apps can't use?).

Anyway, I fixed it by downloading a motion jpeg codec from the web somewhere.

I had the exact same problem with Win2k. I used Morgan's codec too for the trial but didn't buy it (worked great!).
Since I now run WinXP, I use WinMovieMaker to open these MVI.AVI files (Canon G2 stills camera) and save as NTSC 30fps wide band quality WMV files to further open in Vegas4.
Works great and quality is more than what the cam can give itself.
NOW I'm a happy Canon G2 owner ...
Thanks Canon
