Quick thanks to Tech Support :)

Just a quick note of thanks to the tech support staff for helping to sort out an issue where my SF9 would no longer recognise my AC3 plug-in and license from my Vegas 8 Pro/DVD Architect 5 instalation. After a few false starts, they finally came up with a simple solution to the problem, so I now can render out of SF9 an AC3 Pro file without it wanting me to buy it again. I was able to render out AC3 Pro from Vegas just fine, but the registration of the plug-in wasn't being recognised by SF9.

Thanks Guys!

Just in case someone else has this problem, what was the simple solution?

Hmmm...Let's just say that it was a matter of deleting one file and copying over another licensed file to the location where the first file was deleted...Basically taking the licensed file from Vegas 8 Pro and putting it into SF9 where it belonged...

I don't want to post what the actual fix or files are because I think it might enable someone to illegally use a license from another computer and put it onto a computer that isn't licensed....I'm a believer in having legal, licensed copies of programs, and I wouldn't want to contribute to what is already a big problem.

Having said that, now that the problem has been diagnosed and fixed by SCS tech support, if anyone is having the same problem, they can easily provide the fix now that it is in their database... Probably in one tech support e-mail session....It took me about a week to get it resolved because we had to try a number of things to try and find out why the license wasn't getting picked up properly...

It seems it lost it with one of the upgrades but I'm not sure which one...Probably the Vegas 8 Pro/DVD Architect 5 update because it was working the last time I tried to export AC3 out of SF9 before I did the update...I think that was when, but I use SF9's AC3 so rarely, I can't be sure because I normally use it from within Vegas as a final step in audio processing prior to DVD creation.

Cheers!
