Quick way to show graphic at original size?

YesMaestro wrote on 11/10/2008, 2:32 PM
Every time I bring a graphic onto the the timeline, Vegas will always resize it to the properties and PAR of the project. Is there a keyboard or mouse shortcut that will get Vegas to show the graphic at its original size? I couldn't find anything under Pan/Crop, Properties or the Preferences where I could do this easily.

Is the "original size" bigger or smaller than the project size?

The original is smaller, but Vegas does the same thing (it shrinks it down) with graphics larger than the project size is. When you bring a graphic, video clip, etc into After Effects, it will bring it in as it's original size.

In Pan / Crop, set the values for Width and Height to that of your project. Be sure that both Maintain Aspect Ratio and Stretch to Fill Frame (both in the Pan / Crop window) are set to "Yes". Sorry, no "easier" way to do this. (Well, other than a script, I suppose.) Though if you need to do this for multiple image, you can do one and that select its event, Copy, and then select other events and Paste Event Attributes.

That's why I made the "Logo Resize" tool in Excalibur. It will take an image that's smaller than the project size and restore it back to its original size. For images larger than the project size, it does the same as Vegas and sizes it so that it just fits.

Thanks Ed! I forgot about that feature.
