There is only a fader length option in ms. no curve settings.... I want the fader CURVE to be different as my default curve.

OIC.
Fade type
I can understand why you might want to change the default, but I don't know how to do it. Sorry.

Sure would be nice to have better control over this, yes, but I think I'm on to something...
If you make a cut, drag a point to make a crossfade, adjust the fade type, then make another cut and crossfade it uses the LAST TYPE of fade. So if you make a bunch of cuts, then go back to adjust them you will go mad! If you make a cut, then adjust the type before making other cuts the subsequent cuts will be of the previous type.
I don't know if this works across tracks or clips or projects or what...

it only remembers the fade type for subsequent cuts if it's in the same clip.

When you move on to another clip it goes back to the default.

I agree it was not possible in VP8 and earlier.

In Vegas Pro 9 use the External Control & Automation Tab in the Preferences Dialog to set the "new audio event gain".
After setting this option in every new audio event (throughout the project) the fade type you set wil be used. The fade type of existing events does not change.
