Quicktime Render Bloated

So I have a rendered AVI which the client would prefer in QuickTime. Brought it into Vegas and rendered it out as QT and what was about a 1 gig AVI is now a 12 gig QT. Um, anyone help me out here ? I used the default " Best " settings as obviously I would like to give them the highest quality but 11 EXTRA gigs ?

Would love some insight here.

I may be able to get you started, I'm no quicktime expert thats for sure. when you are choosing the default best setting click on the video tab, and where you see format you probably have none, that I think is the problem. Now what format you need , I'm not sure, My quicktime guru is watching hoops and had too many beers to even ask. Back to the game.
Good luck

If you didn't select any custom options you probably got uncompressed 32 bit (with alpha). This would indeed be somewhere around 12 times the size of a DV file. In the Custom window above the Video tab you can select various video formats. Try DV/DVCPRO - NTSC or DV - PAL, whichever is appropriate in your neck of the woods. This should give you a file just about the same size as a DV .avi file.
