QuickTime track not rendering

Hi there,

I am working on a Vegas 8.0b project where I use an uncompressed (yes, UNcompressed) QuickTime video in one track - the audio track was deleted from the timeline. The problem is that the content of QuickTime track does not render. Instead I get a black area. All other tracks render fine.

Also, I found that when I set the quality for the preview window to anything better than "Preview" the QuickTime track is not displayed, it's just black.

I tried the same QuickTime video in Vegas 7.0e on the same machine with no problems. It renders fine and is always visible in the preview window, no matter what quality setting was chosen.

Is this some known problem? Any suggestions (apart from converting the QT to another format - I've already done that)?

Thanks a lot,
Rainer

I find that vegas 8 performance is really poor in handling .mov files, whether from Digital Juice or Canon cameras. Now, since vegas calls quicktime to process the video, something in the interface is killing performance........ quicktime----new name--dieing-slow-time---

The thing that puzzles me is why Vegas 7 handles the file just fine and Vegas 8.0b doesn't. And as I said, this is on the same PC!

Same here. Digital Juice MOV stuff does not show any audio in Vegas 8.0b.

**All** of my other (non Vegas) software recognizes the audio track in the same Quicktime files. Vegas = Audio attributes could not be recognized or something along those lines. I also know I am not alone on this.
