Ram Preview now grayed out

What causes the Ram preview to not be selectable in the menu?

Update: after closing and restarting Vegas still did not have it as a selectable item. Just went back to the menu after doing some more masking and now I can select it again! Why?

Do you have a region of the timeline selected for the Ram Preview to work with?

Edited: Or, your Options/Video setting for Dynamic RAM preview is set to 0.

Hmm. I thought I had a region selected. Now that I have it as a selection I do have region selected. That may have been it.

Been editing for almost 16 hours-must be getting delirious.
