Like many others, I am struggling with Preview stuttering. Here's what I am finding:
1) Choosing different Preview parameters makes no difference to the stuttering I get when I have just a simple text media running.
2) Increasing my Preview Dynamic Ram setting to even 5000 makes little difference than if its set to only 200.
3) Creating a Zone (Shift+B) makes no difference to the stuttering.
My project is 640x480x24, 15,000p. On playback, it goes down to around 5,300p as it plays out the title text media.
The details of my system is detailed below:
i7 Quad Core 920 2.67Ghz; Win7 64Bit fully up to date
ATI Radeon 5700
6.0Gig RAM
Apart from spending $$$'s on a new GPU card, something instinctively doesn't feel right with this performance; surely a Quad core i7 and 6Gig RAM should eat this stuff even with an older graphics card? When I play back my video files on VLC or any other media player it works fine.
