Random glitches in final render when GPU Acceleration is ON

Hi

I've posted elsewhere of the broken filter Vegas Defocus when GPU acceleration is on (using Intel graphics), I've now been doing a few more renders of existing projects (Vegas 15 build 216) and found some clips that will consistently render with glitches, this seems to be one or two frames that have jumped back to a previous frame so you see a stutter or a frame that has some random noise across it.

Doesn't matter the output type, I've tried QuickSync, Mainconcept, Sony XAVC, Intel HEVC they all do it, so it's the output fed into the encoder. The clips render fine when GPU acceleration is turned off.

On more investigation this particular clip with glitches seems to be a combination of:

Having a NewBlue FX effect (Soft Focus) on the clip, the project properties set to 32 bit (Video) and acceleration on.

  • Remove the FX, no glitches
  • Change project to 8 bit, no glitches
  • Turn off acceleration, no glitches.

Personally I think acceleration is broken on Intel GPU's or the filters GPU optimised version of their code are buggy.

My own recommendation is to turn off acceleration for the final render problems.

Regards

Phil
