Raptor Drive Configuration

I have one Western Digital Raptor 74 GB 10,000 rpm drive and am curious which is faster for use with Vegas Video, using the faster drive for the operating system or for my dedicated video working drive?

My guess is to use it as the video drive as the operating system is loaded into memory so system drive speed is not crucial at that point. I am using an ABIT IC7 Max motherboard with 1 GB of memory.

Definitely use the faster drive for your dedicated video drive. Also be sure to defrag it before each video caputre session. I typically:

1. Delete the previous work on the hard drive.
2. Defrag
3. Capture
4. Edit/Render
5. Backup to DVD
