Ratts! Now what? Vegas Products... GONE! ! ! !

I had my Hard Drive replaced and the tec support transfered all the data to the new one. Most programs have worked... Sonicfoundry products do not! I had the downloaded version and I don't know where the install file is.

When I try to run the program it says' "Aplaction not properly installed. Please reinstall in order to continue. Both Vegas 4.0 and Sound Forge 5.0 don't work.

What now?

Did you save your serial numbers somewhere? I back everything up on CD and file it away.. if something happens and I need to reinstall.. it's all there..

I found an email for Sonicfoundry and installed it again. Yikes... that was scary!

Thanks

take a look in the Program Files folder for a sub folder describing a Sonic Foundry Vegas4/DVDA install/setup area. The original setup files are here, so in case your registry hasn't been moved across, you have a starting point hopefully (without finding the original unexpanded download/s).

Key wise, check your mails, or contact Customer Services for retransmission (you'll need your name, and home address, and possibly to use the same email as your original order).

Seems your IT department isn't as IT aware as their job titles indicate - but then we all make mistakes sometimes.

That's odd!
You have another thread in a couple forums saying you want to sell Sound Forge 5.0, but yet you reinstall it on your new hard-drive?!?
You woudn't be trying to scam something here, now would you???

PS: I believe the word you're looking for is "D'oh!!"

I'd suggest UN-installing, then re-installing each application, which is what the dialog box suggests. Copying applications from one drive to another hasn't "just worked" for ages, thanks to Windows, the Registry, and other wonderful things.

AS my concerne, copying files from one drive to another is not a goode idea, what the technician(?) should have done is ghosting, ghosting takes an exact copy of one drive and then places this on another new drive.

Back to what SonicDennis says, copying is not straight forward, indeed.
