Re-Activation and Computer ID

I purchased Vegas Movie Sutio Platinum 11 sometime ago as a standalone product online. Several months ago I experienced a computer crash and for a while I could not get the program to reinstall. Today I finally got it to reinstal and everything seemed to be going well until I tried to acitivate it. Although MAGIX has me on file as having the program, instead of the activation serial # working like before it kept reporting to me that "my trial" was over and had to buy a new program. Because I am visually handicapped and the last time I checked version 14 would not work right in High Contrast mode I decided to simple reactivate my serial # when I found it was possible to do that from the MAGIX site. Although the program took my serial number and broguht up that I did have VMSP 11 it kept asking me for a ComputerId. I found out after a lot of searching that the computer ID it was looking for was something that is generated by the program upon installation sometimes but I don't remember seeing it so I never could use it. Without the Computer ID I can't seem to get the online program to reactivate my serial # although it has a plain record that I do own it and had contacted them about it in the last year. Can someone either tell me how to find the ComputerID on a PC running Windows 10 Pro, or let me know if there is another way of getting my valid serial # reactivated? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and any help in this matter. If I could use Version 14 it would make things a lot easier but until they can update it so that the Timers don't disappear in High Contrast mode I am stuck using what I have.

In V14, the computer ID is in Help>About.

In V12, the computer ID is in Help>About Movie Studio

I don't have V11 installed.

I want to thank you so much for your reply. I was quite excited to try it out when I realized that I was in a bit of a "Catch 22" about it. My present program will not allow me to sign in because I need to re-activate my serial #, however, I can't activate my serial # without having the ComputerID whichis more than likely inside my need to be activated program which I can't get into.

Actually, the realization made me laugh. At least, in the future, if I ever by an updated version of the program (one that works well in HIgh Contrast mode) I will know to jot down the ComputerID first thing.

On a good note, all of this runing around has helped me. I ahd been having some synch problems with some older videos I made and wanted to utilize the program to help me fix the audio/synch issue only. (I was able to find another program to do the basic editing). The good news is while searcing for how to get into the Movie Studio I came across a Free Movie Editor which quite easily allows me to adjust the audio/video synch and then allows me to re-record the video. And so ... mu ultimate problemsi now solved even if I had to go the long way roundd to do so.

Thanks again, for your help, advise, and support. See you around the forum. Have a great day.

Your computer ID should be readily found outside of MS. With my MS14 the machine ID shown is that which appears in my System info found in several places in Win10..
