1st: ,SONY, I cannot believe your support system...... I've been through the forum for way to many hours already...... And have found some answers but obviously not the right ones yet. I've called your support number and had to talk with a pre-sale person (Mike, who by the way was very kind) in order to get a toll free number that has been busy for 1/2 a day.... AMAZING.... It's not like you guys are giving your programs and cameras away for free. We're paying good mony for equipment that should have a better support system...
Anyway, here's the problem: I have Vagas 6.b and a Sony HDR-FX1 Windows XP (with the latest updates) p-4 processor 2.4 512mb&100gb external drive (HDR-FX1 connected with fire wire). I found a thread posted back in april 05 by SonyBP explaining how to go to device manager, AVC Tape subunit and update the driver. The problem is, I can't find a list of devices to pick from. When I right click on AVC Device, Properties, Details, the FX1 shows up in the dialog box below the pull down which reads 61883\SONY&HDR-FX1&10001\E2AF83041460008 So the FX1 seems to be there, Why isn't it showing up in the vegas HDV device box?
Thanks in advance,
Sorry to blow off steam.....
