re: cloning an event

i know i can duplicate a track but is there a way i can duplicate a track already on the timeline?
thanks
i needed it for a project i edited yesterday but i would like to know for future projects
i kept dragging source clips to the timeline and editing them
if i could have cloned the clip it would have saved me much much time

You can duplicate an edited track containing events: Right-click in the track>Duplicate track

Is this what you need?

Or do you want to duplicate an event with its properties: Ctrl-drag an event in the timeline?

i did right click the event but i didn't see "duplicate" so i decided not to do anything

You have to right-click on a BLANK area of the track or the track header. Then you will get the option to "Duplicate Track".
