Re: Copying between two instances of V4

Hi all

Please help.

I deleted a section by mistake and, by the time I noticed, it was too late to use undo as it meant losing all the cahnegs I had made since - a lot!

I had a copy I had saved an hour earlier under a different name so I loaded that into another instance of V4 and set 'Lock Envelopes to Events'. I then highlighhted the section I wanted (multiple events across multiple tracks - all tracks the same in both cases) then pasted to the section I had previously deleted.

The only problem now is that the envelopes never got pasted at the same time. What has gone wrong here.

BTW, by envelopes I mean Track Motion key frames - does that make sense?

All help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I think you might have to lock envelopes to the events and that would do the trick. Someone please correct me if I am wrong as I do not have Vegas in front of me at this moment.

Copy pasting of track motion (or any track) keyframes between open instances is a totally manual process, but it does work. Open Vegas instance #1, go to track #1's track motion window, lasso the position keyframes, copy.

Open Vegas instance #2, go to track #1's track motion window, click on the position keyframe strip, paste. Paste pays attention to cursor placement- first keyframe lands on cursor point.

Repeat as needed for shadow/glow/any other track keyframes.

Takes a few seconds to grok the behaviors, but after that its mindless copy/paste.

That's how I ended up doing - cheers.

I feel better now I know I wasn't going round the houses all by myslef. Can a better solution be added to the next version?
