Re: Creating Audio CDs

Hi

I've just been asked to create an audio CD for someone from their mp3s. Normally I've used an MP3 to WAV converter then burnt using Nero but thought surely V4 can do this and improve the audio if required.

I did a search and found the following thread which has helped tremendously - great stuff. http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=237369&Page=0

But it has left a few questions unanswered.

Firstly, how can I add details of the CD name, etc. before burning along with the name of each track?

Secondly, in the Burn Disc-at-once box should I have Buffer Underrun selected?

Lastly, I assume that I can but each track (event) up against the next and by inserting an N the two second gap will automatically appear.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

If you mean CD text, I don't believe you can do this with Vegas. You can name the CD markers on the timeline for future reference.

"Secondly, in the Burn Disc-at-once box should I have Buffer Underrun selected?"

Yes - it probably won't make a great deal of difference if you have a fairly recent PC, but there is really no point in turning it off.

"Lastly, I assume that I can but each track (event) up against the next and by inserting an N the two second gap will automatically appear.

No, the gaps between tracks is determined by the posistion of the CD markers on the timeline. If you want a 2 second gap you'll need to leave one between the end marker of a track and the start marker of the next track. But you don't need to have this gap for the CD to play ok.(except, i think, before the first track).

That's strange...

On the timeline the cursor is at the furthest left hand position yet the time display on the right is set at 2.00 and the larger display at the top left displays 01+00:00:00.

Thanks for your help.

P.S. Just noticed that the manual states an iniial 2 sec gap is added automatically and I found 'Add as CD track' the best method as all markers, gaps and titles are done for you.

What an easy option:-)))
