This is a somewhat generic question. My original Windows installation was damaged by a virus or malware. I can still use Vegas Pro 8.1, but other programs can't be used. Therefore, I am planning to uninstall Vegas, wipe the drive and reinstall Windows, then reinstall Vegas.

The basic question is: do I have to get "permission" or any other interaction with Sony to re-install Vegas Pro 8.1 after it has been uninstalled, then reinstalled on the same machine? I plan to do this over the Memorial Day weekend, and I would anticipate no one would be around @ Sony.
