"i am going to video the show and post it to my friends web site"

What did he ever do to you to warrant such a move? You might not be able to call him friend much longer.
On the upside...There shouldn't be too many people in the way when you're filming. :)

LOL! When i saw the subject of this thread i thought you were asking about SonicFoundry's NAT Firewall. They always show up in my web server's access logs as vanillaice.sonicfoundry.com

Before you post the video, make sure you get written permission from the producers, the band, the concert hall, all their legal staffs, and get signed model releases from every single person visible in the video including audience members.

You do realize that he doesn't do his rap/hip-hop stuff anymore, right?

If you've seen any of his interviews or those "behind the music" VH1 shows, you would know that he now is doing kind of punk rock/metal type music. He did do a hardcore punk rock version of "Ice Ice Baby" to kind of make fun of himself (and capitalize on his notoriety), so maybe you'll hear that version... but you won't hear that old rap stuff.

Does 7-Eleven know that you plan to broadcast their Icee machines without written permission?

"He did do a hardcore punk rock version of "Ice Ice Baby"..."

Well isn't that the cherry on top!
(Sorry...)

vanilla ice has been doing hardcore punk for several years now. it's actually pretty good and has somewhat of a fanbase with skaters and such. he also became a christian and got married after the hip hop years, where he got ripped off by quite a few music industry folks. what would be funnier is if bad brains started doing gangsta rap.

TOO many bad jokes! it hurts, like...slipping...on ice...ice...baby

Hey, that was one of my favorite VH1 videos. Ice, baby, ice . . . great theater. Unique. And of course it was destined to be a one-hit wonder. Blonde-haired Elvis does rap!

wow, i can't believe the size of this thread--the ice man rocks!!
ok, maybe not
here's the scoop
robert vanwinkle aka vanilla ice, would not let me videotape his show
however, he was very nice, a total gentleman and very down to earth
i admit i was disappointed though
now for the show...
it didn't suck as bad as i thought it would--but believe me, it did suck
i had heard he was a punk rocker etc, but he did an hour show of RAP MUSIC
his "posse" consisted of one dj, one live drummer and one black rapper.
he came out and the crowd went wild--1,200 people
this is a huge turn out for a wednesday night in jersey--usually this place has 25 people on a wednesday night
he then proceed to spray everyone and everything with water
i got soaked
at that point, i thanked my lucky stars i didn't have my video camera because it's not waterproof
after about 5 really bad rap songs---the crowd started leaving and getting antsy--they wanted "the song"
he finally did ice, ice baby-the original version--it rocked
just as cheesey as i remember it
he did a few more rap songs and he left
by the time he left the stage half the crowd was gone
that means 600 people who came solely to see him--left
anyway, i wouldn't have missed it for the world
it was funny and pathetic at the same time
what's more, he is covered with tattoos and curses on stage
somehow, i resisted the temptation to buy a vanilla ice "word to your muttha" t-shirt
anyway, that be the scoop, an interesting night for sure
