My guess is that both formats will lose.... by the time they get the price of HD/BluRay DVDs and HD/BluRay DVD Blanks down to a reasonable level (as well as reliable!) we will be using a different delivery medium altogether... solid state!

Actually, with a good upconverting DVD player there is no compellling reason to spend extra for Hi-Def DVDs.... regular SD looks great for the most part and many current Hi-Def DVDs are only mediocre copies of garbage movies anyway.
