I use Real-DRAW PRO 3.1 all the time for titles that have 3D “depth” but it’s not a true 3D tool. What is does is allow you to paint a picture that looks 3D because it has nice perspective and lighting tools that enhance the illusion of 3D on a 2D canvas. The best thing about it is that it keeps everything as an object. There is no concept of layers like in PaintShop Pro or Photoshop and so I find it infinitely easier to use. You can go back and edit anything at any time.

If you want to rotate text and objects in 3D space then you should look at Ulead Cool 3D 3.5 or Cool 3D Production Studio. If you need camera control then take a look at Cinema 4D CE6. These are the tools I use, I’m sure others will have their own recommendations.

The Xara3D program is very useful too. Although not in the same league with the programs JR mentioned, it does have a wide range of text effects, lighting and output options. The program is also reasonably priced.
