real long text clip

I would like a real long text clip - like 10 minutes long. The nominal text clip is 10 sec long. How do I make it 10 minutes long? If I change the " length" of the clip from within the video event FX window - I don't see any change. I realize I can stretch of the length of the clip (as per the slow motion technique - ctrl - click-drag) to about 39 seconds. I need 9 more minutes.
I have VMS 6
Thanks
Ian

you don't have to control+drag, just drag. Otherwise, copy/paste

For extra info, when you create generated media, you will see a time value at the top of teh pop-up window (at least with Vegas Pro, assuming same for VMS). You can make the length of the media 10mins easily there then

But follow Eugenia for easy solution to your situation

Oops - I guess I should have known that (simply dragging out the clip). After all this time - I had never tried that. My bad.

I am still curious with the "Length" field in the Video Event FX window. When I insert a simple sample text - it defaults to a 10 second length. If I drag the text clip to a minute long in duration ... and then open up the Video Event FX window - the "Length" field is still at 10 seconds. Shouldn't it be updated to reflect the actual length of the clip? Also - if I manually change the "Length" field - the clip length doesn't change. What does the "Length" field represent?
Thanks
Ian

The length field allows you to alter the length of the clip. Yes I know....
If you have a 10sec clip, and you drag the side out, to say 30 secs, you will see 2 notches in the clip at 10 & 20sec. These inform you that your clip is repeating. Fine for what you are doing. But lets say you want your text to rise from bottm, to top, over 30 secs. You could go through pan/crop and other tricks, or you could set the text length to 30, the start and the bottom, and the end at the top, and Vegas will add a couple of keyframes and do the magic for you. (if VMS has keyframes for automation? - I assume so but not 100%)

Kenny's got it . . .

If you just have no-changes plain text for 10 minutes, you don't mind if it loops a 10 second text for 10 minutes. If you do any keyframing, then you should change your text length to 10 minutes in the Edit box.
