First anomoly:

I have a video clip on the timeline. I click to place the cursor at the beginning of the clip. I see black, not the first frame of the clip.

A related situation:

I have two video clips on the timeline. I click to place the cursor at the cut, between the two clips. I see video from the first of the clips. I CONTINUE TO SEE VIDEO FROM THE FIRST CLIP, when scrolling cursor partially into the second clip.

VERY strange - can anyone tell me what's up, and how to fix it?
