Realtime external preview

I am currently unable to get full quality, full framerate, realtime preview on an external monitor via an external 1394>analog converter.

According to the BlackMagic Design rep, their DeckLink cards provide realtime preview on an external monitor.

If you use one of these cards, I would appreciate your insights about how well they work and what I can expect in terms of realtime previewing.

Thanks, I'll check out DeckLink and other options at NAB. Hopefully Vegas will support the nVidia 5400VE graphics card from PNY. It sells for $250 and has SD and HD output via a breakout box.

I'll also be looking at Premiere. It seems to me that Adobe has really gotten their rear in gear with respect to realtime performance and inter-product integration, which used to be painful, to say the least. As much as I love Vegas, realtime preview on a broadcast monitor and tight integration with a motion graphics/compositing program like After Effects improves overall workflow.
