I know absolutely NOTHING! NOTHING! I feel I've got start all over again . . .

I've just loaded this software and I've got control on perhaps 200 knobs and switches and sliders . . .

I'v got my Oxygen8 contolling knobs on the screen and I'm using a synth that makes sounds a la Jarre . . I've just play myself a kinda of Balde Runner intro . . pppphhhoaaargghh , , , I can WAV it up and bring into ACID or SF . . AND VEGAS!

I just want to thank all those who've helped this week ESP "BOB" . . I aint got Latency . . well not much at all . . and I'm now a lost soul . . . I'm floating . . .

Are you saying that your Oxygen8 is now working with your SoundMax with no latency after you installed the software that came with the keyboard?

YES! . . . Now who'd have thought that! . . Now I want it to work with ACID.

Blimy
Maybe I'll put that Oxygen8 on my to-do list again.

See how high you can get on oxygen. Eat your hearts out, smokers!

Oxygen and smoking (yes Grazie even weed) is a dangerous combination.
Oxygen and Acid is quite safe, latency does seem to be an issue though, perhaps Grazie will soon work out the Reason why.

Go to the Propellerheads web site. There is a really good tutorial to explain how to ReWire Reason to ACID.

Peter you STAR! ! ! . . Will the rewire counter the Latency? Bob - don't loose patience with me . . please . . . maybe I aint asking the correct qurestion, but I am trying . . .yes very trying! ! !

Thanks again Peter . .I'm gone . . . g

What type of latency are you talking about. Not really following your workflow or what you want to accomplish.

Once you ReWire Reason into ACID, it appears as a mixer bus (or buses.) You will also have a number of "MIDI ports" appear so that you can play them with a MIDI track, the GUI keyboard, or an external MIDI keyboard.

If your latency is:
Play a note on your external keyboard, and it is "slow" to respond.

You need to lower the buffer size that ACID uses for audio hardware. You SHOULD be using ASIO drivers, but even with the Mapper of Wave Classic driver you should be able to lower the bufer size to somewhere between 50 and 100 ms. This is still VERY high for really tight playback, but it is workable.

If you do have audio hardware that provides ASIO drivers, select these and set the buffer size the ASIO Driver uses to 128 to 512 samples. This should be around 1 to 10 ms of latency and should provide a nice tight feel when playing an external MIDI keyboard to trigger the synths in Reason.
