Reasons to upgrade?

I have VMS and am wondering if I gain anything by upgrading. Currently I don't do anything in High Def. and am happy with my current version of VMS (Verson 3 - the Orange box). However it looks like that if I upgrade to the new version it will recognize music files downloaded in AAC/Mpeg4 formate from iTunes. Is this the case? Also, is the Tutorial DVD any good? It looks like the one on the VAAST site for $49.95.
thanks CB

Personally, I would suggest that if you do moderate to intense editing - upgrading is a good idea. You are going to find a LOT more functionality and compatability and options in VMS 7 - even if you don't do any hi def. Quite honestly, from what I have seen and heard about hi def - there are a number of "bumps" in the road yet to be ironed out. If course it boils down to what you plan to do with it. I have not seen the tutorial by Spot, but everyone I have heard from that has seen it give it very good reviews. There are also a bunch of free tutorials at the VAAST site.

Thanks.
How about bringing songs in directly from iTunes? I appears this new uprgade will handle that right?

Yes, you can bring in AAC songs directly from iTunes. You can even "drag and drop" straight from the iTunes Music library to the VMS timeline.

I was a little disappointed by the DVD tutorial. It's very basic stuff, and is actually an abbreviated version of the full title that VAAST sells. There is absolutely nothing about HDV editing (which is what I personally needed most).

thanks Travel Junkie.
I think I will upgrade just to keep up with the times. I did find a way around not being able to import AAC files from iTunes into my current verson of VMS. I just burned my playlist onto CD in iTunes and then imported the CD into VMS -- it coverted each track into .wav files and I can now put all of them in as tracks, edit, etc...
