>>>filmy - just to clarify - rebuilding from a veg file does much more than cuts only...<<<

I know that - that is why I said "...at least in the context of a cuts only type edit..." , because I was clarifing what I meant overall - Picture editing and *not* effects, color correction, audio mixing and so forth. And again - for me the issue was SMPTE TC information and EDL's that you could bring over to an online house, or even to a negative cutter that does matchbacks via an EDL. In these case anything other than basic effects (provided you are doing A/B/C type online) and basic audio edits wouldn't really be in the EDL anyway.

As far as the overall VV project being able to recapture and rebuild the *exact* timeline including audio, effects and color correction this, too, is a great thing but that got me thinking about other things that I mentioned in a post above. One of them was being able to use custom presets that may not exist...which I mean logically the 'numbers' would exist and probably be rebuilt on the time line, but the actual saved filter preset - or even the actual filter - how would VV rebuild that section? (IE - say I used the Pixlean Spice Master plug and 10 years from now that plug is either incompatable with VV or it is an entirly new plug. Same goes for VV internal plugs) It wasn't an issue at this second for me, just a thought that goes deeper into this thread.
